Reuse of Glass in an Artistic Way: ‘Call of the Sirens’

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

The action I am participating with is a piece of art made of glass. The glass I used for this piece of art is made of glass which was ready to be wasted. I collected bottles I use myself, friends and relatives and also other glass collected by myself from nature. I make use of this glass and with it I create in the form of collage, very similar to mosaic art but instead of mosaic the medium I use is glass.

I named this piece of art ‘The Call of the Sirens’ since the art involves sirens. I am really in love with nature and have great appreciation to the environment, especially the sea. Also, some of the glass used in this piece of art is made of glass collected from the deep sea, therefore it inspired me to include ‘The Call’ since it derived from this deep blue sea and like the sirens, according to the Greek mythology, they lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island.

The main intention of all this is that through waste and the beauty of nature, my art will show how to change the perception of art and making great use of the waste.
