Reuse of Synthetic Rubber Surface of a Full Size Football Ground

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

This year the school decided to totally resurface our full size football ground and change the old synthetic surface to a more modern one. All the material from the old football ground was going to be dumped in a landfill. To avoid this the idea for reuse of the old surface and all the rubber inside it cropped up.
The sports department started looking for alternatives of reusing this old surface. As a result a number of entities were interested in re-using this old surface for various projects including:
(i) Surfacing of derelict areas to transform it into a playing area.
(ii) Surfacing cemented playground (for a shock absorbing base)
(iii) Covering a newly paved square to prevent it from being damaged
(iv) Putting it as underlay for a beach volleyball court
(v) Re-surfacing of a derelict 5-a-side football ground
(vi) Surfacing of an indoor archery centre
(vii) Rubber granules mixed with sand will be used as an underlay for farming purposes

All the material was given free of charge
