• WHAT will be done
Description:
‘- Creation of a computer classroom to provide training on free software and free tools for education.
– Ten computers removed from seminars (previously used in teaching classrooms in our Faculty) will be used, with sufficient capacity to install and run Linux in a user-friendly graphical environment.
– The project is aligned with the European Framework for the Digital Competence of Educators (DigCompEdu), which responds to the growing awareness in many European Member States that educators need a set of digital competences specific to their profession, in order to be able to harness the potential of digital technologies to improve and innovate in education.
– Integration in the “Digital Competence Framework for Undergraduate Students”.
– The project falls within the Sustainable Development Goals, included in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, established by the United Nations in 2015, whose implementation covers 2016-2030 (Agenda2030).
o Goal 12 – Responsible production and consumption. Target 12.5 – By 2030, significantly reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse activities.
– The University of Zaragoza is committed to implementing the 2030 Agenda being evaluated by ECODES, whose reports are available at https://oficinaverde.unizar.es/agenda-2030.
– The institutional declaration approved by the Governing Council in its session of 7 June 2007, On the promotion and development of free software and open standards, established the official position of the University regarding this growing technological trend, demanded by various groups, founding the Free Software Office (OSLUZ), whose objectives are to be the point of reference at the University of Zaragoza regarding free software, as well as to inform and promote the use of open source programmes and open standards.
– Possibility of Collaboration and support from the Free Software Office of the University of Zaragoza (OSLUZ). In May 2023, the Faculty of Education will host the “esLibre Congress”, organised by OSLUZ in face-to-face and virtual format. Good opportunity to publicise the project.
– Possibility of creation as a project of the Faculty, as an innovative project for PDI, PAS and students.
