The Laboratory of Special Vocational Education of Agios Dimitrios (EEEEK Agiou Dimitriou) invites the schools of the Municipality of Agios Dimitrios to act and form together circular communities in order to prevent waste. With the support of the Municipality of Agios Dimitrios and the Office of Environmental Education of directorate of secondary education in Athens, we aspire to create an awareness community based on the circular economy approach aiming in transitioning to sustainable consumption and production patterns in order to achieve zero waste targets.
We organize awareness and information actions focusing on the reuse of materials that come from old, used kitchen utensils or tools and their final processing into useful objects such as frames, lamps, hangers, clocks, pots, etc. With the slogan … see your utensils in a different way … we highlight the value and benefits of reuse while emphasizing the social nature of the action with the aim of supporting vulnerable student groups.
Those interested will have the opportunity to attend presentations by the collaborating parties  and experiential activities in the context of green entrepreneurship with social orientation which will be presented by students of the special education school (EEEEK Agiou Dimitriou) through the webex digital platform for the period 22/11/21–26/11/21 between 10.00 and 11.30am. At the same time, special collection bins will be placed in the partner schools for the reuse of household utensils and tools (with the support of No Waste 21 organization) while the actions will be promoted on social media in order to encourage all target groups to be informed and help reduce unnecessary consumption by focusing on giving a second life to existing products. We believe that small, local, fair, and inclusive circular communities can play a major role in pushing Europe towards a sustainable future.
