Seminar about the collection of organic matter with the relevant associations of Navarra
• WHAT will be done
Description:
The action is part of the European prevention week between November 21 and 29, 2020. It concerns the most important priority within the hierarchy in waste management, which is waste prevention.
In November 2017, from the Navarra Waste Consortium and its prevention office, a decision was made to dedicate human and financial resources to enhance the collection of organic matter or improve its quality.
With this objective, it was considered essential to accompany the society in this process of separation of organic matter, as a tool for the prevention of the large amount of poorly selected waste that potentially ends up in a landfill.
Accompaniment sectors were defined, such as:
- Citizens in general, with massive visits to homes, intervention in markets, etc.
- Large generators of organic matter such as hotels, greengrocers, etc.
- Large surfaces, campsites, high-generation border areas, etc.
For this purpose, training sessions were held with the aim of preparing technical personnel in the following subjects:
- Waste management in Navarra.
- Organic matter.
- Techniques that enhance empathy, assertiveness, commercial work, etc.
After three years of experience, and several coordination meetings with the technical staff assigned to this program, it is time to assess the results and share, with all the entities, the experiences carried out in the process of implementation or improvement of recruitment of the organic matter and counteract, among all of them, results and practices of success or failure in this way.
Scope: Commonwealth of Alto Araxes, Baztán City Council, Commonwealth of Bidausi, Bortziriak, Esca Salazar, Irati, Mairaga, Malerreka, Mendialdea, Montejurra, Ribera Alta, Ribera, Sakana, Sanguesa and Valdizarbe.
