Paper is a huge burden to the environment and when Paper isn’t recycled it contributes to landfill and pollutants in the air. This year our school chose to transform our classrooms into a 98% paper-free zone. Besides the environmental benefits as when we reduce paper we have more trees we will reduce quite a good amount of waste from our landfill and create a sustainable future.
By going paperless in our school we contribute directly to reducing waste, water, and power use – which provide a cleaner and more sustainable world for our children in the future. Furthermore, by switching to the digital communication platform by means of digital tools, we do not only reach our classrooms but, we reach teachers, all parents, secretaries, students and all the school community. In this way, with this smart initiative we reach them just as when we used to reach them with information on paper BUT without creating waste.
This new system is to educate our school community and the outer community to reduce waste by improving paper based processes to be digital such as: – Digital-forms, e-Signatures/Authorisations, HW given to children by the teacher; document management, IEP(Individual Educational Programme) of students, Daily attendance sheets, Announcements, Assessment and Examination Results, Circulars to parents, Staff notes, Staff data, School meetings, Administration meetings, SMT documentations, Circulars for parents, School Calendar, News, Events, Staff Meetings Schedules, information, Staff notices and much more so to keep the school community, parents and the outer community updated.
