Sustainability Awareness Day and Zero Waste Hackney Challenge

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

The aim of the Sustainability Awareness Day is to showcase and introduce all the services and support we offer to residents in Hackney to help the community live more sustainable. The event is a plastic free and we aim to raise awareness of the issues caused by using plastics and inspire action to reduce consumption. There will be several zero waste stalls selling items that enable a plastic free and a zero waste lifestyle to residents. As part of the day we will promote the Refill London campaign and encourage residents to sign to the second Zero Waste Hackney Challenge (people signing on the day will receive a reusable bottle). We’re asking our residents and businesses to join the Zero Waste movement against waste and make as close to no waste as possible – please visit www.hackney.gov.uk/zero-waste for more information and to enter the challenge. Sustainability Day takes place on Saturday 17 November 2018 (11am – 4pm) in front of the Hackney Town Hall.
