Sustainable Christmas
• WHAT will be done
Description:
This Sustainable Christmas event is the final event in the Emmaus ReMake Prize Contest (emmausremake.org). This event will feature public lectures on circular economy, re-make and upcycling and showcase the finalists in the Emmaus ReMake Contest (emmausremake.org).
ABOUT THE EMMAUS REMAKE PRIZE CONTEST
Emmaus Fredriksdal collect thousands of items every year and give them a new life through our secondhand shops. Most of things easily find new owners, but some items are stuck in our stores. We believe in recycling and want to challenge you to find a new use, value or functions for these objects. That’s why we started the Emmaus ReMake Contest.
With this contest Emmaus Fredriksdal wants to showcase how we can move beyond a linear economy where old stuff is thrown in a landfill towards a more sustainable circular economy.
ABOUT EMMAUS FREDRIKSDAL
Emmaus Fredriksdal is a religiously and politically independent non-profit organization that promotes a fair distribution of our planet’s resources. We collect clothes and other items all over southern Sweden that we sell in our second-hand stores. The surplus generated from this reuse of our societies excess wealth is then used to finance and operate relief projects all over the world.
