Teacher and Student CPD in green practices at a language school

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

Language Schools are usually a source of waste of paper. Malta university language school had already started a paper recycling exercise and asking both teachers and administrative staff to use less paper when they can. This year MULS will embark on a an educational approach to reduce paper use.

The first initiative is offer additional CPD for teacher with guidelines and activities on how to plan lessons with out the use of photocopies. Recycled paper will be given to students in order not to use additional material for note taking.

The Second initiative is to offer a lesson based on the guidelines and activities mentioned above and conduct a lesson where students learn the impact of human waste (esp. waste that is generated by the educational travel industry) and how as students at a language school could help and reduce their footprint.

These initiatives are only a initial experiment and if they prove to be successful will feature on a yearly basis with additional activities planned such as clean ups. Also information about our initiatives will be found on our website and Facebook page for previous students to see.
