Teaching how to recycle with waste and augmented realityTeaching how to recycle with waste and augmented reality
• WHAT will be done
Description:
The action tries to focus on the importance of recycling our waste and, furthermore, doing it correctly. The goal is for this message to reach as many people as possible.
In a first phase, our high school students do research to become aware of the need to recycle, how to do it and the implications for our carbon footprint. During the preparation of the activity, this message is shared at home and families who have not previously done so are involved in recycling actions.
In a second phase, the students bring recyclable waste in the containers of our city (paper, cardboard, glass and packaging) and with them they build a mascot with the appearance of a robot, reusing this material for our action.
The pet / robot is the main tool of our campaign. We will provide it with augmented reality (AR) content, videos, images and 3D objects made by the students themselves, where they convey the importance of recycling for a sustainable way of life. The application used for AR is Aumentaty.
The third phase is the dissemination making use of this interactive doll, firstly to their younger classmates, those in primary education, and later through the center’s social networks to the general public.
