Tesco CZ donates unsold surplus food and participates in the national food collection

• WHAT will be done

Description:

  • Tesco CZ will use the social media channels to inform that every week Tesco CZ donates unsold surplus food from the stores to Food Banks to rescue food from wasting and helps people in need together.
  • Tesco CZ estimates to donate more than 23 tons of unsold surplus food to Food Banks in Czech Republic during the EWWR week.
  • Tesco CZ will encourage the customers as well as suppliers to donate further food to Food Banks during the EWWR week as Tesco CZ participates in the National Food Collection, organizes online collection and the supplier food collection
  • Tesco CE  will  share the achievments:
    • over 454 tons of non-recyclable or hard-to-recycle materials eliminated from our own brand packaging in Central Europe
    • over 5 mln F&F hangers (over 200 tons) reused since June 2019
    • Over 60000 tonnes of secondary cardboards / foil / aluminium being recycled from our stores in DC’s RSU units (Recyclable Service Units) every year.
