The aim of the project is to complement the reuse work we deliver this year and encourage reuse and repair of large household items, such as furniture and electrical items. The event will be comprised of two elements; a one-day reuse, repair and upcycling exhibition where at least 10 organisations will be showcasing their products and services, expecting to attract 100 attendees and divert 0.3 tonnes of waste; and an upcycling competition for north London residents who will be invited to take part in each of the following categories:
•Upcycling of a dining table.
•Upcycling of an upright chair.
•Upcycling of an armchair.
•Upcycling of a side table.
•Upcycling of a cabinet.

Upcycling methods can include painting, refurbishment, redecoration or use of the item for another purpose rather than its designated use as long as it can be reused within the home.
