The Municipality of Lokroi is semi-rural, and expands in area of 614.7 sq. Km, inhabited by more than 12,000 households, permanent residents and seasonal vacationers, elements that favor the spread of home composting.

The main elements needed to promote home composting are: plant residues, good frame of mind and educating the citizens about it. In this context and due to the corona-virus which doesn’t allow us plenty alternatives we decided to create an educational video in order to promote composting at home and explain its process and benefits.

Compost is organic material that can be added to soil to help plants grow. Food scraps and yard waste together currently make up more than 30 percent of what we throw away, and should be composted instead. Making compost keeps these materials out of landfills where they take up space and release methane, a potent greenhouse gas.
