Turning a Hazardous Waste Problem into a Resource Opportunity: How to Recycle Waste Cooking Oil Awa

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

The Multimedia Students of the ALP School have produced a video which simply and effectively shows how households and businesses can collect and recycle their waste cooking oil. It also explains the harm that would be caused if such waste is dumped or improperly disposed of.

The students and the school are networking with various key stakeholders so that this video is circulated and viewed by a vast audience. This would be achieved by sending a brief explanatory write-up and link to the video to:

1. The sixty-eight local councils in Malta and Gozo who would in turn send them in a mail-shot to all the households on their mailing list.

2. The Malta Department of Information so that this sends them as a mail-shot to all public servants through the public service intranet.

3. The Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association for disseminating to their members.

4. National TV and Radio Stations to cover this initiative and upload on their news websites.
5. The major national newspapers.

This initiative will also be included in a school assembly for viewing and increasing awareness among the three hundred student and hundred staff of the ALP School.
