Upcycling & Creating reusable daily products (open for pupils and adults)
• WHAT will be done
Description:
We want to upcycle products with (young) adults and children and learn about the zero waste life style.
We want to do our action in the 20th district, because we are working in the CERIecon Playpark Vienna, which wants to start the project “Bildungsgrätzl” or in english “education neighbourhood”, where (young) adults should get a sense for sustainability issues and tackle them.
So our workshops consist of two main modules: first we learn about the theory of waste reduction and second we have a practical – hands on – upcycling part.
For the four days we want to take place at the EWWR we have planned to upcycle different materials, not to make fancy fashion out of it, but to make daily zerowaste items out of them. For example:
– reusable shopping bag: out of old jeans, old bedclothes, old curtains
– reusable bags for shopping fruits and bread in the supermarket: out of old (transparent) curtains
– reusable waxed wraps: out of old cotton materials
– tetrapack portmonees: out of old, well cleaned tetrapack bottles
The exact time and costs (for materials/expense allowence), will be announced soon.
