USO E RIUSO: PER UN AMBIENTE PULITO

Questo progetto, svolto dal Comune di Enna, da Enna Euno (società partecipata da Amministrazioni Pubbliche) e dalla S.R.R. (Società per la Regolamentazione del Servizio di Gestione Rifiuti) Enna Provincia – Ato 6, mira a promuovere la riduzione ed il riutilizzo dei rifiuti attraverso il coinvolgimento attivo degli studenti delle Scuole e dei cittadini. Il Progetto si articola nelle seguenti azioni:

1) Campagna di Sensibilizzazione presso le Scuole (classi delle Scuole Primaria, Secondaria di Primo Grado e di Secondo Grado), dal 18 al 24 novembre 2017, sul valore del riuso e del “non spreco”, con l’obiettivo di contribuire a rendere gli studenti consapevoli dell’importanza della riduzione del rifiuto, invitandoli ad esempio a riparare gli oggetti per dare ad un prodotto una nuova vita o a evitare gli imballaggi; saranno anche organizzati degli incontri con le scolaresche per mostrare come attivare Laboratori Creativi del Riciclo, come:
a) “Scarta la carta”; questa attività mira a creare nuova carta utile, riutilizzando la carta straccia, per esempio per creare delle cartoline di auguri natalizi.
b) “Gioca la plastica”; mira a creare giocattoli dalla plastica riciclata.
c) “Come realizzare attività di riparazione”; mira a recuperare e riutilizzare i prodotti o i loro componenti.
Nei laboratori si trattano anche argomenti come compostaggio e gestione dei rifiuti.
18 Novembre 2017 – Istituto Professionale Statale “Federico II”, dalle ore 11:00 alle ore 13:00, conferenza sulla Riduzione dei Rifiuti.
20 Novembre 2017 – Istituto Comprensivo “Santa Chiara”:
– dalle ore 8:30 alle 10:00, conferenza sulla Riduzione dei Rifiuti;
– dalle ore 10:15 alle 12:15, gli studenti della Scuola Secondaria di Primo Grado sensibilizzeranno i cittadini del quartiere della propria Scuola, allestendo davanti al supermercato più vicino appositi banchetti dedicati a diffondere informazioni sul focus tematico della SERR 2017, “Riutilizzo e riparazione: dare una nuova vita”, e sugli impatti degli imballaggi, al fine di una riduzione del nostro consumo di imballaggi.
23 Novembre 2017 – Istituto Comprensivo “Edmondo De Amicis”, dalle ore 9:00 alle 11:00, conferenza sulla Riduzione dei Rifiuti.
23 Novembre 2017 – Istituto Comprensivo “F. P. Neglia-N. Savarese”, dalle ore 11:15 alle 13:15, conferenza sulla Riduzione dei Rifiuti.

2) Sensibilizzazione degli Impiegati Comunali alla riduzione dei rifiuti negli uffici incoraggiandoli a non stampare le e-mail, a leggere e seguire le modifiche dei documenti sui monitor, a stampare e fotocopiare fronte-retro, a usare carta da recupero, a bere acqua del rubinetto e ad allestire una scatola di condivisione (uno spazio aperto) in cui le persone possono lasciare/prendere diversi oggetti.
20 Novembre 2017 – Comune di Enna, dalle ore 12:00 alle 14:00.

3) Conferenza stampa per lanciare la manifestazione “Uso e riuso: per un ambiente pulito”, che si svolgerà il 31 maggio 2018 presso la Galleria Civica, con interventi di esperti del settore e degli studenti, con l’esposizione dei lavori eseguiti durante il percorso didattico annuale dagli alunni, al fine di rafforzare il valore delle risorse naturali. Si svolgerà, inoltre, una raccolta di beni alimentari, la cui distribuzione avverrà tramite le associazioni di volontariato “La Tenda” e “Il Centro di Ascolto S. Chiara”, per sostenere le famiglie ennesi, che vivono in particolare stato di disagio, segnalate dai Servizi Sociali del Comune di Enna.

4) Manifestazione conclusiva
24 novembre 2017 – Galleria Civica:
– dalle ore 9:00 alle 10:00, conferenza stampa per invitare le Scuole a partecipare alla manifestazione “European Clean-Up Day”, che ad Enna si svolgerà il 9 Maggio 2018, durante la quale gli studenti aiuteranno a pulire il Parco del Castello di Lombardia;
– dalle ore 10:15 alle ore 14:00, “Gli studenti incontrano i cittadini”: alla fine delle attività a scuola e nel quartiere, gli studenti incontreranno la cittadinanza presso la Galleria Civica per mostrare come è semplice ridurre i rifiuti, anche riutilizzandoli o reinventando nuovi prodotti; i prodotti ottenuti dagli studenti saranno infatti esposti. Verrà allestita una Scatola di Condivisione per incoraggiare il riuso ed evitare di gettare via oggetti in perfette condizioni; è un buon modo di scambiare o condividere oggetti con altre persone. Inoltre, allo scopo di promuovere l’uso dell’acqua del rubinetto per ridurre l’imballaggio bottiglia (oltre che per tutelare la salute, evitando di assumere agenti chimici componenti della plastica usata per bottiglie e contenitori per alimenti), gli studenti inviteranno all’assaggio ad occhi chiusi di vari tipi di acqua in commercio, inclusa l’acqua del rubinetto. Infine, gli studenti effettueranno una raccolta di giocattoli e libri per ragazzi, con l’attività “RiGiocattolo e RiLibro: dai loro una seconda vita, se non li usi più”; tali giocattoli e libri verranno consegnati all’associazione di volontariato “La Tenda” che li distribuirà, durante la manifestazione “Epifania di solidarietà 2018”, ai bambini, anche di famiglie che vivono in particolare stato di disagio; ciò per contribuire alla riduzione sia dei consumi che dei rifiuti.

USE AND RE-USE: FOR A CLEAN ENVIRONMENT

This project, carried out by the Municipality of Enna, EnnaEuno (a subsidiary company of Public Administrations), and S.R.R. (Società per la Regolamentazione del Servizio di Gestione Rifiuti) Enna Provincia – Ato 6, aims at promoting waste-reduction and reuse of waste through the active involvement of students and citizens. The project consists of following actions:

1) Awareness Campaign for Schools – To raise students awareness of the importance of waste-reduction, an awareness campaign on the importance of re-usage and zero waste will be launched for Schools (Primary, Middle, and High Schools), from 18th to 24th November 2017. Students will be invited, for example, to repair items to give a product a new life or to avoid packaging; meetings will also be organized to show them how to activate the following Creative Recycling Workshops:
a) “Scarta la carta” (Discard the paper): an activity which aims at creating new and useful paper, re-using wastepaper, for example making Christmas greeting cards!
b) “Gioca la plastica” (Play the plastic): activity which aims at making toys out of recycled plastic.
c) “How to make repair activities”: activity which aims at recovering and reusing products or their components.
The workshops also discuss topics including composting and waste management.

On 20th November 2017 – Primary and Middle Schools “Istituto Comprensivo Santa Chiara”:
– at 8:30 am – 10:00 am, conference on Waste Collection;
– at 10:15 am – 12:15 am, citizens living nearby schools will be made aware by the students of the Middle School, who will mount information stalls in front of the nearest supermarket. As well as informing on the thematic focus of EWWR 2017, “Reuse and repair: Give it a new life”, and on the impact of packaging to reduce our consumption of packaging.

2) Awareness for Council workers – Council workers will be involved in the awareness and reduction of waste campaign in the office, encouraging them not to print emails, to read and follow document changes on screen, to set printers and photocopiers to print on both sides, to use recycled paper, to drink tap water, and to set up a Give Box (an open space) where people can drop/take different types of items.

3) Press conference to launch the event “Use and re-use: making the environment clean”, which will take place on 31th May 2018 in the Municipal Art Gallery of Enna. Students and experts in the field will give speeches and exhibit the work made during the yearly educational path, so to reinforce the value of the natural resources. Moreover, foodstuffs will be collected and distributed by the voluntary associations “La Tenda” and “Il Centro di Ascolto S. Chiara”, aiming at giving support to the families in need living in Enna, previously communicated by the Social Services of the Municipality of Enna.

4) Final event
On 24th November 2017 – Municipal Art Gallery:
– at 9:00 am – 10:00 am, in a press conference Schools will be invited to participate at the event “European Clean-Up Day”, that will take place on 9th May 2018, during which students will help to clean up the park of “Castello di Lombardia”;
– at 10:15 am – 2:00 pm, “Students meet the citizens”: at the end of the activities at school and in the nearby area, students will meet the citizens in the Municipal Art Gallery of Enna, where they will show them how simple is to reduce waste by re-using and re-inventing new products; finally the resulting new products will be exhibited. A Give Box will be set up to encourage reuse and avoid throwing away items that are in perfect shape; it is a good way to exchange or share items with people around you. Furthermore, in order to encourage the use of tap water so to reduce bottle packaging (as well as protecting one’s health by avoiding that plastic chemicals components, used for bottles and other types of food packaging, enter the body), students will invite people to taste several types of water placed on the market, including tap water, with their eyes closed!
Finally, students will collect toys and teen-series books to do an interesting activity called “RiGiocattolo e RiLibro: dai loro una seconda vita, se non li usi più” (Re-Toy and Re-Book: give them a second chance, if you don’t use them anymore). These toys and books will be then given to the voluntary association “La Tenda”, during the ceremony of the “Epiphany of solidarity 2018”, so to contribute to the reduction of both the consumption and waste. The association will provide to give them to children, particularly to those coming from socially disadvantaged families.
