Waste Reduction Week at SPMC
• WHAT will be done
Description:
We the SPMC Eko-Skola Committee members have been working hard to promote waste reduction throughout our school in the following ways:
-Circulars are sent to parents via email and no hard copies are printed
-Cling film/foil-wrapped lunches are strictly prohibited
-Each classroom has its own raff paper box
-Each classroom has its own recycling bin
-Each classroom collects organic waste, to be emptied in the school compost bin
We are looking forwards to continue to promote these good practices and go a step further during ‘Waste Reduction Week’. This will include various activities that involve the whole school and members of the local community, as follows:
1. A waste reduction campaign is to be promoted by committee members during morning assemblies
2. Speakers will be invited to speak to students of a particular age group, regarding waste reduction and clean-ups
