On the 20th November, the ekoskola students will make an awareness campaign for the European Week for Waste Reduction during the General assembly for all the school population.

On the 21st November 2017:
We plan to launch A Litter Less campaign by showing to all the Year 11s, a short ppt on tips on how to litter less. This will be done through last year’s experience in the preparation of the garden area. We shall show the students how the Ekoskola committee has reused the waste material found in a derelict area of the school to build benches and potting planters for the garden area which we shall continue this year. Then we shall continue the presentation by giving them tips on how to reduce, reuse, repair and recycle in their everyday lives. We shall also give examples with at least two samples produced from waste material, such as shopping bags, cushions and soft toys from used clothes etc…

Then after this, along the scholastic year, workshops with students will be organised to produce such things. Thus we would be reusing and reducing wasted things. After that we will organise together with the Hamrun Local Council some workshops for the community too in which a ppt will be presented as well as hands-on activities similar to the ones at school. Finally a video could be produced to amalgamate everything together which would further reinforce our litter less campaign.

On the 23rd November at 9am, there is going to be a tree planting session in the reading garden area at school.
