We are a community managed cafe, staffed by volunteers.  Our cafe evolved from our community fridge, a food sharing initiative.  We ensure we operate the cafe in an ethical manner and this begins with our menu.  We only use surplus food.  To complement this we are minimising our carbon footprint in any way we can.  One of these is switching from single use wipes to reusable cloth wipes.  We provide and encourage families visiting our cafe to avail of our cloth wipes for cleaning babies and toddlers.  We have eliminated disposable wipes from our operation and are working with our cloth wipe supplier to provide a discount so that those visiting our cafe may also purchase cloth wipes at a discounted rate.

Through this initiative, we are encouraging behaviour change both within our cafe and in the home.  We are highlighting the impact of disposable wipes and how simply we can all make positive changes.
