Small Changes, Big Impact: Practical Steps for Less Waste

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

During the European Week for Waste Reduction, we’ll focus on educating and spreading awareness by sharing practical tips for adopting a sustainable lifestyle. From reducing waste and conserving water to supporting local products and using eco-friendly transport, our goal is to inspire responsible choices in everyday activities.

The planned activities include:

  1. “Code of Conduct” for Sustainable Tourism
A comprehensive guide, available online and in print, outlining sustainable behavior for both residents and tourists. This guide promotes responsible actions in everyday situations, including guidelines for reducing food waste and handling food responsibly within the tourism sector. By encouraging mindful consumption and waste reduction, it promotes a community-wide commitment to environmental preservation.
  2. Educational Videos
A series of videos aimed at raising awareness and educating viewers on essential waste reduction principles, including:

    • Waste Management: Learn the principles of refuse, reduce, reuse, and recycle, and discover easy steps to cut down on food waste and litter responsibly.
    • Water Conservation: Save water through mindful habits and embrace the benefits of drinking tap water.
    • Energy Efficiency: Practice ways to reduce energy use.
    • Eco-Friendly Transport: Choose bikes, public transit, or walking to lessen your carbon footprint.
    • Pet Waste Management: Keep public spaces clean by responsibly disposing of pet waste.
    • Supporting Local: Opt for locally-sourced food and handmade products.
    • Reusable Shopping Bags: Bring your own bags to reduce single-use plastics.
  3. Downloadable Sustainability Pictograms
Customizable icons that residents, businesses, and institutions can download, print, and display to promote sustainable practices across the destination. These icons cover key actions, such as waste separation, turning off lights, closing windows, and indicating the availability of drinkable tap water.

Join us in making these small changes that lead to a cleaner, greener environment for everyone!

These actions will be taken by the partners of the Waste Design 2.0 project, implemented within the framework of the Interreg Italia-Slovenija 2021-2027 programme and co-financed by the European Union.

Activities will be conducted online; on the websites and social media of the project partners.
