Since 2018 to date, Porto District Courts in partnership with LIPOR and Porto Enviromental Company – Porto Ambiente, have implemented a lot of iniciatives regarding waste reduction, reuse practices and waste sorting and valorisation. This actions were done in order to change de environmental compromise of Porto District Courts, improving the efficiency of the process and engaging all the employees and daily visitors.

All teh technical work was accompanied bey Lipor and Porto Ambiente, having the goal of achieving the GREEN HEART CERTIFICATION awarded by Lipor to Instituitions that stand out for good sustainability practices deployed.

So, these practices are now the current behavior and it is the moment to recognize all the effort done that allowed 12 Public Institutions – 12 Courts, to change the disposal mindset, assuming now prevention and recycling as daily practices, wich proves that any public institution, even those with very particular specifities can put sustainability as a priority.

Being these practices rootedin the institucional communities of the courts, they will occur throughout the EWWR week, but the 24nd november will be a special date, because it will be the day when the GREEN HEART CERTIFICATION will be delivered to employees and Courts Administration.

This is a continuous initiative, the daily work have to be done, before and after the EWWR, and the GREEN HEART CERTIFICATION will be monitoring day by day.
