Webinario NAPOCTEP: economía circular, sostenibilidad y valorización de residuos en el sector HORECA
• WHAT will be done
Description:
In the framework of the EWWR, our proposed action is a webinar to talk about the importance of circular economy, sustainability and waste recovery in the HORECA sector to promote a more sustainable tourism. The action will be focused on the the Interreg NAPOCTEP Project (www.napoctep.eu).
This project, that has been approved by the European Comission, aims to promote the knowledge of Napoleonic routes through Spain and Portugal, and our purpose is to show through this webinar how circular economy is introduced into touristic routes, to make them more environmentally sustainable, as well as showing how waste recovery can be used as a new way of producing energy in the HORECA sector. Those actions have impacts, on the one hand, on reducing the amount of waste produced, and, on the other hand, on taking advantage of that minimum waste. This aspect is especially important in the NAPOCTEP Project due to the fact that those routes involve mainly rural areas that have to be especially protected because of their condition and vulnerability.
The NAPOCTEP project contributes to the achievement of the Investment Priority of the POCTEP Program in the protection and valorization of cultural and natural heritage, as an economic base support of the cross-border region, since it focuses on valuing the abundant cultural heritage of the Napoleonic era, generating an attractive, differentiated, quality and sustainable tourism product that allows generating economic activity and employment in the region.
